Well, I mostly just stumbled onto this and have to say this is a very interesting beginning to a potentially groundbreaking story. I’m not sure if you intended it to be, but this is an ‘almost’ Scifi. It’s set in a technological point that isn’t really that far distant from our own (and possibly is likely considering all the advances recently, though doubtful has any tried it) and you do a very decent job describing her world. And then her imaginary friends! That was the part that most interested me. It’s not as if she were just talking to imaginary people like all kids do, it’s practically more than that since she is in this bubble and has no access to real people (except the maid, and I suppose her mother, but that is yet to be seen). Even the names are neat. Grey Malkin

Hi S.M.D,

Thanks for your kind words. I’m pleased you like it. Looking at your own blog-novel (sorry I haven’t read it yet but I will) I’m sure you know how inspiring any feedback is, so I thanks again!

At the moment there is more: 10 chapters have been written, but I’m in progress of re-drafting. Well, I say progress, but actually I haven’t touched it for sometime now. Partly due to being a little busy of late, but mainly due to loosing focus. Actually, recently I have been think or re-thinking about it again and there are a few changes I’d like to make, so I might get onto it in a month or so, once I get a few things out of the way.

I’m a big fan of SF and there are or (from your point of few) will be some more SF elements in the story as it progresses, although I do not think it will ever become a hard SF story, and some more imaginary elements will be on the way too.

I’m glad you like the names. I’m also fond of the name Grey Malkin, although I’m considering changing Paige’s name to something else, as I’m not a fan of it (I chose it at random from a website of girl’s names), but at the moment I’m stuck for further inspiration. I’m sure something will occur to me one day…

Cheers

Simon

I hope you don’t turn it into a purely hard scifi novel. It’s truly at a great level of scifi as it is. This is sort of fitting into that ‘magic realism’, only we’ll call it ’scifi realism’. But yeah, don’t start throwing in aliens and the like. I sometimes think on this and wonder if it will turn into a twisted Alice in Wonderland.
Now if I could only figure out where to go to have rss, atom, or xml feeds automatically checked and messages sent to my email so I can more easily check back on blogs :S. Lol.
Anywho, I hope to see more of your work soon.
